remember a while back how i mentioned i was planning a baby shower for my little sister? well, it happened...a while ago. i'm finally sharing the pictures with you.
my sister, who loves pink, was having a baby girl. so of course everything had to be pink. i picked up a couple paint chips to have as my guide while picking things out (it was really helpful as my sister is picky about her pink).
i gathered things for a couple months. spent about $2 on thrifted birdhouses, which now i realize i didn't get a picture of the third pink one. i bought sample sizes in the paint color chips i had selected & painted over the hideously painted birdhouses i found.
i splurged & bought a pom pom maker (knowing i'd be using it again) & tried my hand at making a scalloped bunting.
i had so much fun pulling this all together. as the mother of two boys i've never been surrounded by so much pink (well, except back in my childhood days when i had a bright pink room).
i really wanted to create a whole false ceiling out of tissue paper puffs, but realistically i only was able to make six (it still looked cool, i think).
this polka dot one was my favorite.
sadly, on the day of the shower i woke up really dizzy & it didn't go away for most of the day (low iron maybe?). i was lucky to get these few pictures that i did & my mom was a HUGE help stepping in & getting the last bits put together. you can hardly see the candy jars in the back right, but the whole color scheme was inspired by the strawberry milkshake whoppers (have you tried them? soooo addicting, you've been warned).
oh, & by the way, a beautiful baby girl was born one month ago today. i was honored to be in the room at the time. she is amazing & adorable & i am so happy for my sister & her husband.
